“Sharon! What a surprise! Where’s Jeff?”
“He’s at home. Yesterday, he decided elephants turn white when they grow old! ”
They laughed as she showed him a picture of the drawing on her phone.
“How’s the hat collection?”
“This one is no.87”
“Have you met Ryan? We went to art school together.”
“Nice to meet you! I wish I could stay but I’m not carrying an umbrella and the rain looks like it’s going to pour.”
“Here’s mine, let me drop you,”
“That’s really sweet. Thank you!”
Ryan smiled, this wasn’t as hard as he had thought.
“You can stand under my umbrella – ella – ella..”
A pop song? No way would she fall for that!
“Can I be your knight in dry armour?”
Ryan wanted to be a hero for the pretty girl standing under the tree but couldn’t find his voice and or the right words.
“You’re getting drenched! Here, come share my umbrella.”
“Thank you, it’s really coming down.”
“No problem, let me be your knight in dry armour.” The young man said.
She laughed as they walked away.
Ryan watched from under his umbrella and whispered,” I should have said that”.
She was wearing a dry set of clothes but her hair was still damp.
He could almost feel the electricity flow through her as he toyed with the idea of taking her to bed.
But then again..
It wasn’t a good idea to turn her on tonight.
It had been a short dash through the rain but he didn’t want to take any chances with her.
She was more real than any of the girls he met on dates.
He moved his hand away from the concealed switch in her back.
Taking her out tonight had been a mistake.
