About

I have 4 notebooks which I write/doodle in simultaneously.

I never seem to be able to develop a story for more than a few pages-halfway through which I realize I’m rambling. This is my attempt at turning that into something productive.

And this is the solution I found: A story told in 100 words (It’s not a new concept and I don’t claim ownership of it.). Just so that it doesn’t end up as a whim I’ve set out to do for a hundred days – to start with atleast.

It’ll take about 4.5 minutes of your time to read through a story. If you like me a little, spare me a little more time and let me know what you think of it. Better still if you have an idea that you think would make a good story let me know!

Somewhere along the way I decided to start contributing to collaborative blogs also. Since some of these stories don’t fulfill the criteria of 100 words I’ve created a separate page for them.

Happy Reading!

Cheers and love

Shruti

  1. Write a story about a man in a hat, one about an umbrella, another about a white elephant, and one about a hat, an umbrella, and a white elephant at once.

  2. thanks.. i’ll do that one starting tomorrow

  3. I understand you cause I seem to share your writing syndrome. I like your idea and wish you lots of luck with it. And don’t worry, you won’t run out of idea’s. The more you write, the more of them you’ll have. Just keep your eyes open. Life tells best stories.

  4. Write one about never being able to answer an email because there is never the right time/mood.

  5. Read a few stories and enjoyed them. Looking forward to more 🙂 You’ve got yourself a new subscriber 🙂

Hi… I totally love your blog and the stories in it… also since I have a major handicap in the “fiction” area unless I have to bluff my way out of silly things… I think they are amazing… keep it up… i really think there should a whole book of them….

  12. Cool idea, I really enjoyed the ones I’ve read so far. I did something similar once where I chose a quality (abundance) I wanted to honour in my life and wrote stories from my own life that had resonated with that theme, all in 100 words and 1 story for every year of my life (I turned 30 that year). It was really fun. Keep it up – I’ll be back:-)

  13. Wow thanks, the encouragement is mutual! Thanks to you I’ve now decided to add them as a page on my blog. They’re not as well written as yours though, I will get round to editing them in the next couple of days, but i think they still have something to offer – thanks again and happy writing:-) What day/number are you on now by the way and what will you do when you reach the 100…?

    • I doubt that they’re not well written! You’re too modest. I’m on story number 80. Very frankly I don’t know what I’m going to do. This has turned out to be so much more fun and challenging than I expected. I think I might just take it on to write 100 more. 🙂

  14. Happy to have found you via freepennypress. Loving your stories and your writing style! 🙂
