Alice continued drying the dishes as her husband ranted on and on. She had given up on trying to make him understand her job.
“Honey you know it has to be done. The children need it.”
He sat at the table knowing he couldn’t stop her.
“Are you going out again tonight?”
“Yes, John and Andrew lost another tooth each. I shouldn’t take long. Don’t worry about the money. It’ll come back..”
Alice slipped on her wings and took yet another 2 coins from the jar.
