#79 The end

Time was a blur as he watched the coroner take the body away.  No weapon had been found and they suspected it to be a burglary gone wrong.

“I came over to go over some figures for a project we were working on. This morning he’d sliced the budgets in half. I was going to convince him to change that. Now it’s all over. Why did they have to kill him…”

The policeman gave Adam a glass of water and told him to go home.

Adam shivered and started his car. The bloody shirt in his briefcase would keep its secrets.
