#66 A Marriage

At 16, she claimed there was no situation a pretty dress couldn’t make better.

Her mother must have been relying on that statement when she had laid out the gown on her bed. It looked beautiful on her. The cream vintage lace made her look the part of a queen.

Yet, there was no sorrow as she unhooked the dress and let it fall.

She had heard that he was marrying the girl she had walked in on. The only marriage she had now would not be to a man. With her hair pinned back she unfolded the novice’s habit.
